We don’t need to say this

I was alerted to this error message. It’s sometimes served to a web-user when clicking on an external link published on a BBC website.

It goes without saying (although as a blogger I’m obviously going to find it impossible not to say it) that advising the user that where exactly they’re going is almost certainly not necessary. It’s ever so slightly patronising, I feel.

And yes. This is a personal view.
